Automated Content Analysis Workshop – 25. November 2022: 9:00h – 17:00h
23. August 2022
With the high availability of both electronic text and methods to analyze it, automated content analyses have become a popular and important tool for social scientists over the past years. In this workshop, key features of central R packages and other tools are introduced and a tutorial on how to use them hands-on is provided. The workshop will take place on the 25th of November 2022 from 9:00h to 17:00h at the DSI (Rämistrasse 69). You can register via E-mail to: communication@dsi.uzh.ch
The workshop is being conducted by Dr. Gerold Schneider and Dr. Tilia Ellendorff.
The expertise of computational linguists is required in a growing number of research projects in political science and communication science. Automated content analysis allows students and researchers to analyze virtually unlimited amounts of text. In this workshop, we present key current methods and use them hands-on in R and other tools.
The methods comprise, but are not limited to: keyword extraction, collocations, topic modelling, network analysis, conceptual maps.
